Key Responsibilities
- Monitor CCTV screens meticulously for suspicious activities, security breaches, and potential threats throughout the night shift.
- Respond promptly to alarms and unusual occurrences, escalating incidents to appropriate personnel (e.g., security managers, emergency services) as per established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all security-related incidents, observations, and actions taken during the night shift.
- Operate and manage CCTV equipment, ensuring all systems are functioning correctly and reporting any technical faults immediately.
- Conduct regular system health checks and maintain the integrity of surveillance footage.
- Assist in investigations by reviewing recorded footage and extracting relevant information as requested by authorised personnel.
- Adhere strictly to data protection guidelines (e.g., GDPR) regarding the handling and storage of surveillance data.
- Work collaboratively with on-site security teams and other stakeholders to enhance overall site security.
- Provide clear and concise verbal and written reports on shift activities and any incidents.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a CCTV Operator or in a similar security monitoring role.
- Excellent observational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to remain focused and vigilant for extended periods during night shifts.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting and incident management.
- Proficiency in operating CCTV monitoring software and associated equipment.
- Basic computer literacy (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) for record-keeping.
