Career.zycto is seeking a diligent and highly observant CCTV Operator – Surveillance & Monitoring to join our security team in Heaton Moor, Manchester. This crucial role involves proactive surveillance, rapid incident response, and meticulous documentation, ensuring the safety and security of premises and personnel. As a CCTV Operator, you will be the eyes and ears of our security operations, monitoring multiple screens, identifying suspicious activities, and communicating effectively with on-site security teams and emergency services when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor live CCTV feeds across multiple screens for any unusual, suspicious, or unauthorized activities.
- Operate and manage sophisticated CCTV systems, including PTZ cameras, digital recording equipment, and video management software.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, escalating issues to relevant personnel or emergency services as per established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all incidents, observations, and actions taken, including producing incident reports and compiling evidence for investigations.
- Communicate effectively and concisely with on-site security personnel, management, and external agencies (e.g., police, fire department) during incidents.
- Conduct regular system checks to ensure all CCTV equipment is fully operational and report any faults or malfunctions immediately.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, procedures, and relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) regarding surveillance and data handling.
- Assist in investigations by reviewing recorded footage, extracting relevant clips, and providing timely information to authorized parties.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding all security matters and sensitive information.
- Undertake ongoing training and development to stay updated with security technologies and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a CCTV Operator or in a similar surveillance role.
- Excellent observational skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Proficiency in operating various CCTV systems and video management software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound judgments under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Basic IT literacy for system operation and report generation.
Preferred Qualifications
- SIA Licence (CCTV Public Space Surveillance or Door Supervision with CCTV endorsement).
- First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) relating to CCTV operations.
