As a CDL Class B Driver with Career.zycto, you’ll be the backbone of our local distribution network. Your daily responsibilities will include operating Class B commercial motor vehicles, primarily box trucks, to deliver products to businesses, warehouses, and other designated locations within a defined service area. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our customers receive their orders precisely when they need them, playing a direct role in their success and our reputation for reliability. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate CDL Class B commercial motor vehicles, including box trucks, on designated routes.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Load, unload, and secure cargo properly to ensure safe transit and prevent damage.
- Accurately complete and maintain daily logbooks, delivery manifests, and all required paperwork.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies.
- Deliver goods to various customer locations, warehouses, and distribution centers in a timely manner.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally with clients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and other team members regarding route status, delays, and issues.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other tasks as needed to support operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior.
Required Skills
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) – Class B
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major infractions
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving up to 50 lbs regularly
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail for paperwork and vehicle inspections
- Knowledge of local routes and geographical areas within Kalamazoo and surrounding regions
- Proficiency in basic vehicle maintenance checks
Preferred Qualifications
- Air Brake endorsement
- Forklift certification or experience operating pallet jacks/forklifts
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Previous experience in a dedicated local delivery role
- High School Diploma or GED
