As a Cement Store Helper, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that keep the store running smoothly. This includes the physical handling of heavy bags of cement and other construction materials, organizing inventory, assisting with loading and unloading shipments, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload cement bags, aggregates, and other construction materials from delivery trucks and customer vehicles.
- Organize and stack inventory in designated areas, ensuring proper rotation and accessibility.
- Assist customers with loading purchases into their vehicles, providing friendly and efficient service.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the store, warehouse, and yard areas, including sweeping, tidying, and waste disposal.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely and effectively (training provided if necessary).
- Assist with receiving and verifying incoming shipments against invoices.
- Report any damaged goods, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs consistently) throughout the workday.
