This crucial role involves supporting daily operations within a dynamic cement and construction materials retail environment. You will be an integral part of a team dedicated to providing excellent service to contractors and DIY enthusiasts alike, ensuring that all products are handled safely and efficiently.

As a Cement Store Helper, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that keep the store running smoothly. This includes the physical handling of heavy bags of cement and other construction materials, organizing inventory, assisting with loading and unloading shipments, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Safety is paramount in this role, and you will be expected to adhere to all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload cement bags, aggregates, and other construction materials from delivery trucks and customer vehicles.
  • Organize and stack inventory in designated areas, ensuring proper rotation and accessibility.
  • Assist customers with loading purchases into their vehicles, providing friendly and efficient service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the store, warehouse, and yard areas, including sweeping, tidying, and waste disposal.
  • Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely and effectively (training provided if necessary).
  • Assist with receiving and verifying incoming shipments against invoices.
  • Report any damaged goods, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to management promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs consistently) throughout the workday.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to punctuality and attendance.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse safety principles.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Physical stamina and endurance for a demanding role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, construction, or retail environment handling heavy materials.
