Career.zycto is thrilled to partner with a renowned healthcare facility in Steinbach, Manitoba, to seek a compassionate and highly skilled Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) for a full-time position. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to women, including gynecological care, family planning, prenatal care, and postpartum care.
  • Manage labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum period for low-risk pregnancies, including attending births.
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations, interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate individualized care plans.
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapeutic measures within the scope of practice and provincial regulations.
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families on various health topics, including pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions, consulting with physicians as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records, documenting all patient encounters and interventions.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, quality improvement initiatives, and educational activities.
  • Advocate for patients' rights and choices, promoting a respectful and empowering birthing experience.

Required Skills

  • Current and active registration as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Master's degree in Nursing or Midwifery from an accredited program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
  • Exceptional clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient education abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a rural or community-based healthcare setting.
  • Additional certifications in specialized areas such as Advanced Fetal Monitoring.
  • Bilingualism (e.g., English and German/Plautdietsch) is an asset, reflecting local community demographics.
  • Previous experience in quality improvement or patient safety initiatives.
