Job Description

Are you a passionate individual with a knack for engaging communities and a desire to make a tangible difference in people’s lives? Mossel Bay Hospice is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Part-Time Charity Fundraiser specializing in Event Participation to join our dedicated team. This crucial role involves actively representing Mossel Bay Hospice at various local community events, markets, fairs, and gatherings throughout the Mossel Bay area. Your primary goal will be to raise awareness about our essential palliative care services, recruit new donors, and secure vital financial support for our operations.

As the face of our mission at these events, you will interact directly with the public, sharing inspiring stories, articulating the profound impact of our work, and inspiring generosity. This isn’t just a fundraising role; it’s an opportunity to connect deeply with community members, build meaningful relationships, and directly contribute to providing comfort and care to individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses. Your efforts will directly impact our ability to offer free, high-quality hospice care, comprehensive support groups, and compassionate bereavement services to those in need within our community.

We are looking for someone who thrives in social settings, possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and is deeply committed to our cause. If you’re a proactive self-starter who can confidently approach strangers, articulate our mission with passion and empathy, and convert interest into tangible support, we encourage you to apply. This role offers flexible hours, primarily focused around event schedules (which may include evenings and weekends), making it ideal for someone looking for meaningful part-time work that genuinely gives back. Join us in making a profound difference in the lives of our patients and their families, ensuring that compassion and dignity are at the forefront of end-of-life care.
