Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently process customer purchases using our point-of-sale (POS) system, including scanning items, handling cash and card payments, and providing accurate change.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming checkout area, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked and ready for use.
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries, product locations, or direct them to appropriate colleagues for further assistance.
- Accurately bag customer items and assist with bagging as needed, ensuring proper handling of all merchandise.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding customer service, cash handling, and security.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and provide support in other areas of the store as required during quieter periods.
- Handle customer returns and exchanges in a polite and efficient manner, following company guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current promotions, discounts, and loyalty programs to inform customers effectively.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in a retail or similar fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and operate a POS system efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in transactions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
