Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef and other kitchen staff with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and cooking ingredients.
- Ensure all kitchen areas, including cooking stations, utensils, and equipment, are kept clean, tidy, and hygienic at all times, adhering to stringent standards.
- Support in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and inventory management of fresh and dry food supplies.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines strictly, adhering to local health regulations and internal protocols.
- Prepare basic dishes and accompaniments such as salads, desserts, and sides as instructed by the Head Chef.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance and cleaning.
- Assist with dishwashing, pot washing, and general clean-up after meal services and throughout the day.
- Contribute to menu planning discussions and ingredient sourcing as needed, offering ideas and feedback.
- Maintain a positive, collaborative, and professional attitude within the kitchen team at all times.
- Support special event catering and visitor refreshment services as required.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and general kitchen operations.
- Fundamental understanding of food safety, handling, and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift moderately heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.

Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or a related hospitality field.
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a professional kitchen, restaurant, or similar food service role.
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, food presentation techniques, and a wide range of ingredients, particularly local produce.
- Familiarity with basic inventory management and stock rotation systems.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing menus, dietary requirements, and kitchen priorities.
- First Aid and Food Handler's certification.
