Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine menus, introducing innovative dishes while maintaining quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and adherence to recipes and standards.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of culinary professionals, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure strict compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
- Manage inventory, procurement, and stock control to minimize waste and optimize food costs.
- Monitor food preparation, cooking methods, and presentation to ensure exceptional quality and guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the F&B team to coordinate kitchen activities with restaurant and banquet service.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new ingredients, and culinary techniques to keep our offerings fresh and competitive.
- Handle special dietary requests and ensure accurate allergen information is available.
- Contribute to staff training and development programs to enhance culinary skills and knowledge within the team.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Chef in a reputable hotel or restaurant setting.
- Exceptional culinary skills across various cuisines and cooking techniques.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Demonstrated creativity and innovation in menu development and food presentation.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP certification preferred).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in inventory management and cost control.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification from a recognized institution.
- Experience with international and local Mauritian cuisine.

- Proficiency in French and English.
