Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional and highly experienced Chef to lead our hotel kitchen team at The Linstead Manor Guest House. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation for all meals and events.
- Develop and update menus, incorporating local, seasonal ingredients and diverse culinary techniques.
- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in line with local health regulations.
- Control food costs by managing inventory, minimizing waste, and optimizing purchasing.
- Collaborate with guest house management to plan and execute catering for special events and private functions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment at all times.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chef in a hotel, restaurant, or guest house setting.
- In-depth knowledge of Jamaican and international cuisine.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in all aspects of kitchen management, including inventory, ordering, and cost control.
- Proven ability to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Valid Food Handler's Permit.
