Job Description
We are seeking an innovative and results-oriented Chief Analytics Officer (CAO) to join our leadership team in Masvingo. This pivotal role will be responsible for defining and executing CBZ Bank’s enterprise-wide data analytics strategy, driving the adoption of advanced analytics, business intelligence, and data science methodologies across all business units. The CAO will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights, empowering strategic decision-making, optimizing operational efficiency, mitigating risks, and identifying new revenue opportunities. This leader will build, mentor, and lead a high-performing analytics team, championing a data-driven culture throughout the organization. You will work closely with executive leadership across Retail, Corporate Banking, Risk Management, Marketing, and Operations to ensure that our data strategy aligns with our overall business objectives and contributes directly to our continued success and market leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise-wide data analytics strategy aligned with CBZ Bank’s business goals and objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists, analysts, and business intelligence professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive solutions to drive business value.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices to ensure data quality, integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with executive stakeholders to identify key business questions, translate them into analytical problems, and deliver impactful data-driven recommendations.
- Champion the adoption of data-driven decision-making processes and analytical tools across all levels of the organization.
- Manage the bank's data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, performance, and the effective utilization of big data technologies.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies in data science and analytics to identify opportunities for competitive advantage.
- Present complex analytical findings and strategic recommendations clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences, including the Board of Directors.
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of analytics initiatives and their impact on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Required Skills
- Expertise in data strategy, data governance, and data architecture.
- Strong proficiency in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence techniques.
- Extensive experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud-based analytical platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing analytical teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinking with a proven ability to translate data insights into actionable business strategies.
- Deep understanding of regulatory requirements pertaining to data in the financial services sector.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
- MBA with a specialization in Data Analytics or Business Strategy.
- Prior experience as a Chief Analytics Officer or in a similar senior leadership role within the financial services industry.
- Familiarity with financial products, services, and core banking systems.
- Experience in driving digital transformation initiatives through data and analytics.
