Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Chief Analytics Officer (CAO) to lead this transformative initiative. The CAO will be a visionary leader responsible for defining and executing our enterprise-wide data analytics strategy, ensuring that data insights are at the forefront of our operational efficiency, resource management, market analysis, and strategic growth initiatives. This pivotal role demands a blend of deep analytical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a profound understanding of the mining or heavy industry sector. You will build and lead a high-performing analytics team, establishing best practices for data governance, data quality, and advanced analytical modeling. The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership across various departments, including operations, finance, marketing, and human resources, to identify opportunities where data can drive significant value. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise-wide data analytics strategy aligned with HCCL’s strategic objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers.
- Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of large datasets from various operational, financial, and market sources.
- Drive the adoption of advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning and predictive modeling, to optimize mining operations, maintenance schedules, supply chain, and resource allocation.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify key business questions and translate them into analytical projects with measurable business impact.
- Present complex analytical findings and strategic recommendations to senior management and board members in a clear and compelling manner.
- Champion a data-driven culture across the organization through training, workshops, and continuous engagement.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance HCCL’s analytical capabilities.
- Monitor industry trends and advancements in data science and analytics to ensure HCCL remains at the forefront of innovation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing data analytics and business intelligence.
- Strong background in data science, statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
- Extensive experience with large-scale data warehouses and data lakes.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights and strategic recommendations.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
