Job Description

Tanganda Tea Company Limited is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Data Officer (CDO) to join our executive team in Chimanimani, Manicaland Province. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise-wide data strategy aligned with Tanganda Tea's business objectives.
  • Establish and enforce robust data governance policies, standards, and practices to ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data assets.
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable data architecture, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Drive advanced analytics initiatives, leveraging big data technologies, machine learning, and AI to uncover actionable insights for operational efficiency, market intelligence, and product innovation.
  • Foster a data-driven culture throughout the organization by promoting data literacy, providing training, and enabling self-service analytics.
  • Oversee data privacy and compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to local and international data protection regulations.
  • Identify and evaluate new data technologies and tools to enhance data capabilities and competitive advantage.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership, IT, operations, and other departments to identify data needs and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Manage data-related vendor relationships and technology partnerships.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a senior data leadership role (e.g., CDO, VP of Data, Head of Data).
  • Deep expertise in data strategy development and execution.
  • Strong background in data governance, data quality, and data security frameworks.
  • Extensive experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and relational/NoSQL databases.
  • Proficiency in data warehousing, ETL processes, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience in statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and mentor high-performing data teams.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
