Job Description
Tanganda Tea Company Ltd. is seeking a visionary and highly experienced Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead our cybersecurity strategy and operations. Based in our key operational hub in Manicaland Province, Zimbabwe, this critical leadership role demands an individual with an exceptional blend of strategic foresight, technical acumen, and robust leadership capabilities. The CISO will be entrusted with the monumental task of safeguarding Tanganda’s extensive digital assets, including proprietary agricultural technologies, operational data, financial systems, and sensitive stakeholder information. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with Tanganda's business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain corporate security policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Lead and manage the information security team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Oversee the identification, assessment, and management of information security risks across the organization.
- Develop, implement, and test incident response plans to effectively address security breaches.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection laws and industry regulations (e.g., POPIA, GDPR principles where applicable).
- Manage security awareness programs to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of security technologies and tools.
- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests.
- Report on the status of information security to executive management and the board of directors.
- Manage relationships with external security vendors and service providers.
- Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., CISO, Head of Information Security).
- Proven experience in developing and implementing information security strategies and programs.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT).
- Expertise in risk management, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Strong knowledge of network security, application security, cloud security, and data protection.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to articulate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent.
- Experience in the agriculture, manufacturing, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors.
