Job Description

RioZim Limited is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Chief Learning Officer (CLO) to lead our strategic learning and development initiatives across all our operations in Zimbabwe, with a primary base in Kadoma, Mashonaland West Province. As CLO, you will be instrumental in shaping our organizational culture of continuous learning, ensuring that our workforce is highly skilled, adaptable, and prepared for future challenges and opportunities within the dynamic mining and resources sector. This senior leadership role demands an individual who can strategically align learning objectives with business goals, foster innovation in learning methodologies, and drive measurable improvements in employee performance, productivity, and retention. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive learning strategies and programs that cover technical skills, leadership development, safety protocols, digital literacy, and professional growth for all levels of employees. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of modern learning technologies, adult learning principles, and best practices in talent development, coupled with a strong ability to engage stakeholders and lead a dedicated team of learning professionals. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with RioZim's strategic objectives and business needs.
  • Design, develop, and deliver innovative learning programs, workshops, and initiatives across various domains including technical mining skills, leadership development, health and safety, compliance, and digital transformation.
  • Identify current and future skill gaps through needs assessments and collaborate with departmental heads to develop targeted training solutions.
  • Champion the adoption of modern learning technologies and platforms (e.g., e-learning, blended learning, virtual reality, simulations) to enhance learning effectiveness and accessibility.
  • Oversee the management and development of the Learning and Development team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous professional growth.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for learning programs, evaluating their impact on employee performance, productivity, and retention.
  • Manage the L&D budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and demonstrating a strong return on investment for all learning initiatives.
  • Foster strong relationships with external training providers, educational institutions, and industry experts to leverage best practices and cutting-edge learning solutions.
  • Drive a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and personal accountability for development across the organization.
  • Advise senior leadership on talent development trends, succession planning, and organizational capability building.

Preferred Qualifications
