Job Description
Tanganda Tea Company Limited is seeking an exceptionally strategic and results-oriented Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to join our executive leadership team in Manicaland Province, Zimbabwe. This critical role is designed for a dynamic individual with a proven track record of driving significant revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer acquisition across diverse product portfolios, including our traditional tea business, emerging macadamia and avocado ventures, and other agricultural products.
As CRO, you will be responsible for defining and executing Tanganda’s overarching revenue strategy, ensuring alignment between sales, marketing, product development, and customer success functions. You will be instrumental in identifying new market opportunities, optimizing existing revenue streams, and fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement within our commercial teams. This role demands a deep understanding of B2B and B2C markets within the agricultural and FMCG sectors, coupled with strong financial acumen to manage budgets, forecast revenue, and report on key performance indicators.
You will lead the transformation of our commercial operations, leveraging data analytics to inform strategic decisions and implementing innovative sales and marketing initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive revenue generation strategies to achieve and exceed company sales targets across all product lines.
- Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing sales, marketing, and customer success team.
- Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, both domestically and internationally, for existing and new products.
- Oversee the entire customer lifecycle, from lead generation and acquisition to retention and expansion.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives within commercial operations, including e-commerce and data analytics adoption.
- Collaborate closely with product development and operations to ensure product-market fit and operational efficiency.
- Manage the revenue budget, forecast sales, and analyze key performance metrics to report on revenue growth and profitability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and industry partners.
- Ensure brand consistency and strong market positioning across all channels and communications.
- Stay abreast of market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes within the agriculture and FMCG sectors.
Required Skills
- Proven executive leadership experience (minimum 15 years) in revenue generation, sales, or commercial roles, preferably within the agriculture, FMCG, or related sectors.
- Demonstrable track record of successfully scaling revenue and market share for complex organizations.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with experience building, motivating, and managing high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of B2B and B2C sales cycles, marketing strategies, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Excellent financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Superior communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in modern sales and marketing technologies and tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving market conditions.
