Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate developmental activities and educational games.
  • Supervise children during all activities, including playtime, meals, and naps, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment conducive to child growth and exploration.
  • Assist children with daily routines such as feeding, diapering/toilet training, and personal hygiene.
  • Monitor and accurately document children's progress, behaviors, and significant developmental milestones.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with parents/guardians, providing updates and addressing concerns.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and safeguarding regulations and policies.
  • Administer basic first aid when necessary, following established protocols and training.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a childcare setting (e.g., nannying, nursery, daycare, teaching assistant).
  • Strong understanding of child development stages and age-appropriate learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrable patience, empathy, and a genuinely nurturing disposition.
  • Ability to organize and lead engaging, educational, and creative activities.
  • Valid Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain promptly).
  • Ability to successfully pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CACHE Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children with diverse needs or special educational requirements.
  • Knowledge and practical understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Multilingual abilities, especially in languages common within London's diverse communities.
  • Valid UK driving license with access to a vehicle.
