Job Description

Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Circuit Board Assembly Aide to join our technical team in Mocuba, Zambezia Province. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about electronics and eager to learn the foundational aspects of circuit board assembly, repair, and maintenance within an industrial setting. As a Circuit Board Assembly Aide, you will work under the guidance of experienced technicians, assisting in the assembly, testing, and basic repair of various electronic components and circuit boards that are crucial to our operational infrastructure. This involves careful handling of small components, precise soldering, quality checking, and ensuring that all assemblies meet our stringent quality and safety standards. You will be instrumental in supporting the maintenance of our electrical systems, contributing directly to the reliable power supply for our community. This position offers hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, providing exposure to industry-standard practices and the chance to develop valuable technical skills. While previous experience is a plus, we are primarily looking for individuals with a strong aptitude for detailed work, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety and quality. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the assembly of electronic components onto circuit boards, following schematics and work instructions.
- Perform basic soldering and desoldering tasks on circuit boards with precision and care.
- Inspect assembled circuit boards for defects, proper component placement, and solder quality.
- Support technicians in testing electronic assemblies using various tools and equipment.
- Prepare components for assembly, including cleaning, sorting, and organizing.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety protocols.
- Document work performed, including any issues encountered or repairs made.
- Learn and apply new assembly techniques and repair procedures as guided by senior staff.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with small components.
- Basic understanding of electronics concepts or a strong willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
- Prior experience with soldering (even hobbyist level) or working with electronic components.
