Career.zycto is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Civil Engineer specializing in design and construction to join our growing team in Triolet, Pamplemousses District. This is a pivotal role where you will be instrumental in the full lifecycle of diverse civil engineering projects, from initial concept and detailed design through to construction supervision and project completion. You will work on a variety of exciting ventures including residential developments, commercial buildings, critical infrastructure upgrades such as road networks and complex drainage systems, and sustainable urban planning initiatives that contribute directly to the island’s progress. We are looking for an individual with a strong foundation in engineering principles, a meticulous approach to design, and proven experience in managing construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments for new and existing projects.
- Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and calculations for civil infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, drainage systems, foundations, structural elements).
- Utilize CAD software and other engineering tools for design and analysis.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, and regulatory bodies throughout project lifecycles.
- Review and approve contractor submittals, progress reports, and payment certificates.
- Identify and resolve engineering and construction-related issues efficiently.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports, documentation, and presentations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Mauritian building codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- Proficiency in structural design and analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, Staad.Pro)
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, materials, and construction methods
- Expertise in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software for drafting and design
- Excellent project management, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately
- Sound understanding of Mauritian building codes, standards, and health & safety regulations
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities with keen attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working in multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related specialized field (e.g., Structural Engineering)
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license or equivalent professional accreditation (e.g., Eng. Council of Mauritius registration)
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software (e.g., Revit, ArchiCAD)
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles, green building certifications (e.g., LEED), and environmental impact assessments
- Familiarity with FIDIC contract conditions and other standard construction contract forms
- Fluency in both French and English, verbally and in writing
