Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies, site investigations, and robust risk assessments for new and existing infrastructure projects.
- Prepare detailed engineering designs, specifications, and technical drawings using advanced CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) and other relevant design tools.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets meticulously, ensuring strict adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and all regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, structural engineers, contractors, local authorities, and diverse project stakeholders.
- Monitor construction progress diligently, conduct thorough quality control inspections, and proactively resolve any engineering issues that may arise during project execution.
- Ensure all designs and construction activities comply with relevant UK building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental sustainability standards.
- Prepare concise and accurate technical reports, detailed project documentation, and present findings clearly to clients and internal teams.
- Actively mentor junior engineers, fostering their development and contributing to knowledge sharing initiatives within the team.
- Utilize an understanding of international engineering best practices to enhance project delivery efficiency and innovation.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related, accredited engineering field.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive professional experience in civil engineering roles, encompassing both design and project management.
- Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit) is essential.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis, hydraulics, geotechnical principles, and contemporary construction methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, suitable for technical reports and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Eligibility to work in the UK (e.g., relevant visa or permit, or willingness to obtain one with company support).
- Sound knowledge of UK engineering standards and regulations, or a clear aptitude and willingness to quickly adapt and learn them.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a specialized discipline relevant to infrastructure development.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a relevant UK professional body (e.g., ICE) or equivalent international accreditation.
- Extensive experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) workflows and principles.
- Previous experience working on civil engineering projects specifically within the Greater London area.
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and green infrastructure solutions.
