Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the design, planning, and execution of infrastructure and road construction projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports in compliance with relevant UK standards and regulations.
- Conduct site investigations, surveys, and assessments to inform design decisions and project feasibility.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial parameters.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and successful delivery.
- Oversee and inspect construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and health and safety protocols.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and success.
- Utilise civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MXROAD, PTV Vissim) for design and analysis.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional development of the team.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in civil engineering with a focus on infrastructure and road construction.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, MXROAD).
- Strong understanding of UK design standards, regulations, and best practices in civil engineering.
- Excellent project management, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Full UK driving licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE).
