Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer with a specialisation in Infrastructure & Road Construction to join our growing team in Shirehampton, Bristol. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the design, planning, and execution of infrastructure and road construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports in compliance with relevant UK standards and regulations.
  • Conduct site investigations, surveys, and assessments to inform design decisions and project feasibility.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial parameters.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and successful delivery.
  • Oversee and inspect construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and health and safety protocols.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and success.
  • Utilise civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MXROAD, PTV Vissim) for design and analysis.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional development of the team.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in civil engineering with a focus on infrastructure and road construction.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, MXROAD).
  • Strong understanding of UK design standards, regulations, and best practices in civil engineering.
  • Excellent project management, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE).
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related specialisation.
  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) methodologies.
  • Knowledge of environmental impact assessments and sustainable engineering practices.
  • Familiarity with public consultation processes for infrastructure projects.
