Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and meticulous reviews of submitted claim files for accuracy, completeness, rigor, and adherence to policy terms.
- Verify compliance with all relevant insurance regulations, industry standards, company policies, and legal requirements.
- Approve or deny claims based on comprehensive analysis, ensuring fair, consistent, and justifiable application of guidelines.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies, inconsistencies, or potential fraudulent activities within claims documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with field adjusters, claims investigators, and other internal stakeholders to gather additional information or clarify details.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with policyholders, agents, and other parties regarding claims decisions and processes.
- Prepare detailed reports and comprehensive documentation to support approval or denial decisions, maintaining accurate and auditable records.
- Stay proactively updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in claims adjusting and compliance.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior claims staff as needed, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Claims Adjuster with a specific focus on review and approval processes.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong understanding of insurance policies, terms, and conditions across various lines of business.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant insurance laws and regulatory frameworks within the UK.
