Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough reviews and investigations of submitted insurance claims, meticulously examining all documentation, evidence, and policy terms.
  • Verify coverage, accurately assess liability, and determine the appropriate settlement amount or denial in strict accordance with company guidelines and legal standards.
  • Communicate claim decisions and explanations clearly, empathetically, and professionally to policyholders, agents, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Negotiate settlements fairly and effectively, striving for equitable outcomes for all parties involved while protecting company interests.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, underwriting, and other departments to gather necessary information and resolve complex and challenging claims.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date claim records, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Identify and investigate potential fraudulent activities, reporting suspicious claims as per established company policy and legal obligations.
  • Stay continuously updated on industry trends, emerging regulations, and best practices in claims adjusting to ensure ongoing compliance and efficiency.
  • Manage a dynamic and varied caseload efficiently, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet service level agreements and critical deadlines.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior adjusters, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing team environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Claims Adjuster, particularly in review and approval processes, with a minimum of 3 years.
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies, various coverage types, and comprehensive claims handling procedures.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex legal and policy documents accurately.
  • Demonstrable high level of integrity, ethical conduct, and discretion.
  • Strong negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with robust organizational and time management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ACII, Cert CII, CIP, or similar).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific claims types highly relevant to the Liverpool and North West UK market.
  • In-depth knowledge of local and national insurance regulations in the United Kingdom.
  • Bilingual abilities (e.g., Polish, Punjabi, or other languages prevalent in the Liverpool community).
