Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and deep cleaning of residential units, including bedrooms, living areas, bathrooms, and kitchens, ensuring all surfaces are sparkling clean and sanitized.
  • Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and polishing floors, furniture, and fixtures to maintain a pristine environment.
  • Emptying waste bins, disposing of trash appropriately, and ensuring waste separation where applicable, adhering to environmental guidelines.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing toilets, showers, bathtubs, sinks, and other bathroom fixtures to the highest hygienic standards.
  • Washing windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces to ensure crystal-clear visibility and aesthetic appeal.
  • Replenishing amenities such as soap, toilet paper, fresh towels, and other guest supplies to enhance guest comfort.
  • Reporting any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards observed in the residential units promptly to management for quick resolution.
  • Maintaining an accurate inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and notifying supervisors of replenishment needs in a timely manner.
  • Adhering strictly to health and safety regulations and using cleaning agents safely and effectively according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Collaborating effectively with the housekeeping team to ensure timely turnaround of residential units, especially during peak occupancy periods.
  • Responding courteously and efficiently to special guest requests regarding cleaning services, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (at least 1 year) in cleaning residential or commercial properties, demonstrating proficiency in various cleaning tasks.
  • Strong understanding of modern cleaning techniques, appropriate use of cleaning products, and operation of cleaning equipment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for cleanliness, ensuring no spot is missed.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks within specified deadlines.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to perform duties requiring bending, lifting (up to 20kg), pushing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards, particularly in a hospitality setting.
  • Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic with a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and adhere to company standards and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent secondary education.
  • Prior experience in a hotel, lodge, or other hospitality environment.
  • Familiarity with eco-friendly cleaning practices and sustainable waste management.
  • Basic communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as needed by the lodge's operational demands.
