Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cleaning Supervisor to lead our dedicated cleaning team in a prominent public building in Wembley, London. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and motivate a team of cleaning operatives, ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standards.
- Develop and implement daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedules and work plans.
- Conduct regular inspections of all public and operational areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to health and safety protocols.
- Manage and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained, stored, and operated safely.
- Provide ongoing training and guidance to team members on best practices, new techniques, and safety procedures (e.g., COSHH).
- Address and resolve any cleaning-related issues, complaints, or maintenance concerns promptly and professionally.
- Liaise with building management and other stakeholders to coordinate cleaning activities and report on service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, staff attendance, and supply usage.
- Promote a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all company and statutory health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a cleaning or facilities management role, preferably in a public or commercial setting.
- Demonstrable leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of motivating and developing staff.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Strong understanding of cleaning methods, equipment, chemicals, and relevant health and safety legislation (e.g., COSHH).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, management, and the public.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping and communication.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Cleaning Services, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Valid First Aid at Work certificate.
