We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Architect to join a dynamic team in Rockcliffe Park, Ottawa. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud architectures across public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Develop and maintain robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Lead cloud migration strategies and execution for existing on-premise applications and data.
- Establish and enforce cloud governance, security policies, and compliance standards.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization and cost management through continuous monitoring and analysis.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to development and operations teams on cloud best practices.
- Conduct regular architectural reviews and recommend improvements to existing cloud infrastructure.
- Evaluate new cloud technologies and solutions to enhance system capabilities and drive innovation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical cloud solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud environment issues and provide timely resolutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a dedicated Cloud Architect role.
- Proven expertise with at least two major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
- Extensive experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Deep understanding of cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), and network security.
- Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
- Experience with serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
- Familiarity with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) in cloud environments.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
- Experience in highly regulated industries or environments.
