Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team in Old Aberdeen. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of cloud platforms, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, coupled with robust server deployment and management expertise. As a Cloud Engineer at Career.zycto, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure. You will work on exciting projects that involve migrating on-premise systems to the cloud, optimizing existing cloud environments, and developing automated deployment pipelines. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage robust cloud infrastructure solutions primarily on AWS and Azure.
  • Automate the deployment, scaling, and management of cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
  • Administer and maintain Linux and Windows server environments in both cloud and on-premise contexts.
  • Monitor cloud performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies are in place.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices across all cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and streamline software delivery processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for cloud-related projects and initiatives.
  • Perform regular system patching, updates, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Optimize cloud resource utilization and costs.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role.
  • Proven expertise with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, EKS/ECS).
  • Demonstrable experience with Azure services (VMs, VNETs, Storage Accounts, Azure AD, Azure Functions, AKS).
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Extensive experience with server operating systems (Linux, Windows Server).
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager).
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Load Balancing).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Knowledge of database administration (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
