Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team in Old Aberdeen. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of cloud platforms, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, coupled with robust server deployment and management expertise. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage robust cloud infrastructure solutions primarily on AWS and Azure.
- Automate the deployment, scaling, and management of cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
- Administer and maintain Linux and Windows server environments in both cloud and on-premise contexts.
- Monitor cloud performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies are in place.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across all cloud environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and streamline software delivery processes.
- Provide technical guidance and support for cloud-related projects and initiatives.
- Perform regular system patching, updates, and vulnerability assessments.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization and costs.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role.
- Proven expertise with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, EKS/ECS).
- Demonstrable experience with Azure services (VMs, VNETs, Storage Accounts, Azure AD, Azure Functions, AKS).
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Extensive experience with server operating systems (Linux, Windows Server).
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Load Balancing).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
- Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Knowledge of database administration (SQL, NoSQL).
- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
