Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cloud Engineer with a strong background in AWS, Azure, and on-premise server deployment to join our growing team. In this hybrid role based near Lisburn, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing robust cloud solutions and traditional server infrastructures that underpin our clients’ critical operations. We are looking for a proactive problem-solver who can navigate complex technical landscapes, from architecting scalable cloud services to ensuring the optimal performance and security of physical and virtual servers.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our digital transformation initiatives, working with a diverse range of technologies and methodologies. Your day-to-day will involve hands-on configuration, automation, and continuous improvement of our infrastructure, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and cost-efficiency. You will collaborate closely with development teams, project managers, and clients to translate business requirements into technical solutions, providing expert guidance and technical leadership. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS and Azure services.
  • Perform hands-on deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers, both virtual and physical.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) to automate routine tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance standards across all cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimisation activities.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients regarding infrastructure-related matters.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our infrastructure, tools, and processes.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, Lambda, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in Azure cloud services (VMs, VNET, Azure AD, Storage Accounts, App Services, etc.)
  • Extensive experience in Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, PowerShell)
  • Solid experience with Linux server administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, Bash scripting)
  • Familiarity with network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Firewalls, Load Balancers)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent
  • Experience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch)
  • Experience with database administration (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Understanding of ITIL principles
