Career.zycto is seeking a talented and highly motivated Cloud Engineer to join our fully remote team, working from the vibrant Bayview Village, Toronto area. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing our next-generation cloud infrastructure, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and secure. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
  • Automate CI/CD pipelines to streamline software deployment and infrastructure provisioning processes.
  • Monitor cloud environments for performance, security vulnerabilities, and cost optimization, proactively addressing issues.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with development, operations, and security teams to integrate cloud solutions and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry security standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies within cloud environments.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide expert technical support and rapidly resolve critical incidents.
  • Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and strategies to improve system efficiency and reliability.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including core services (compute, storage, networking).
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Solid scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
  • Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or CircleCI.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.
  • Deep understanding of networking concepts (VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, firewalls) and cloud security best practices.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and excellent analytical skills for troubleshooting complex cloud environments.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, crucial for a remote team setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, GCP Professional Cloud Engineer).
  • Experience with serverless computing technologies (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions).
  • Knowledge of database systems (relational and NoSQL) and their cloud-native implementations.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog).
  • Familiarity with GitOps principles and tools.
