Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline operational tasks, infrastructure provisioning, and deployment processes (IaC).
- Monitor system performance, reliability, and capacity, establishing proactive alerting and incident response procedures.
- Lead and participate in blameless post-mortems for critical incidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
- Define, measure, and report on key SRE metrics including SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure new features and services are designed for reliability and operational readiness.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and reliable software delivery.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide timely support for production systems.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the team.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Cloud Reliability Engineer, SRE, or DevOps Engineer.
- Strong expertise with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Go, Bash, or similar.
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Solid understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and distributed systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer).
- Experience with serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions).
- Knowledge of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
