Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Part-Time Cloud Security Monitoring Specialist to join our dynamic cybersecurity team in Coal Harbour, Vancouver. Key Responsibilities
- Perform continuous, real-time monitoring of cloud security alerts, logs, and events using SIEM platforms and cloud-native security tools.
- Investigate security incidents, anomalies, and potential threats to determine scope, impact, and root cause.
- Triage and escalate security incidents to senior security analysts or incident response teams as per established protocols.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of security monitoring rules, dashboards, and alerts to enhance detection capabilities.
- Participate in vulnerability scanning and security assessment activities, providing initial analysis of findings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents, investigations, and remediation efforts.
- Stay informed about the latest cloud security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on monitoring or incident response.
- Demonstrable experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS and/or Azure security services.
- Proficiency with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm, Azure Sentinel, AWS Security Hub).
- Solid understanding of network protocols, security principles, and common attack vectors.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
