Job Description

CGI is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cloud Services Deployment Aide to join our innovative team. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the deployment and management of critical cloud infrastructure, supporting our clients’ digital transformation journeys from anywhere in Windsor, Ontario. As a Cloud Services Deployment Aide, you will play a crucial role in assisting our senior engineers with the provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud resources across leading platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient rollout of new services, troubleshooting deployment issues, and contributing to the automation of routine tasks. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior cloud engineers with the deployment, configuration, and provisioning of cloud resources, including virtual machines, storage, networking components, and managed services on platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated and reliable software deployments.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, identify potential issues, and assist in troubleshooting and resolving deployment-related problems.
  • Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) to automate routine operational tasks and improve deployment efficiency.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud environments, deployment procedures, and configurations.
  • Collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless service delivery and adherence to best practices.
  • Participate in learning and development initiatives to stay current with evolving cloud technologies and industry trends.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of deployment processes and tools.

Required Skills

  • Fundamental understanding of cloud computing concepts and services (e.g., IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proficiency in basic scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or Bash).
  • Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for remote collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or Professional-level cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Exposure to monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
