Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Cloud Solutions Architect to join our innovative team in Harare. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing cutting-edge cloud infrastructure and solutions that support our diverse range of services and products. You will work closely with development, operations, and business units to translate strategic objectives into robust, scalable, and secure cloud architectures. This position requires a deep understanding of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), hybrid cloud environments, and a proven track record in architecting solutions that meet enterprise-level performance, reliability, and security standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of highly available, scalable, and secure cloud-native and hybrid cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical cloud architecture designs.
- Develop and maintain architectural blueprints, technical documentation, and best practices for cloud infrastructure and applications.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development and operations teams on cloud technologies, services, and deployment methodologies.
- Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure cloud solutions comply with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Monitor cloud service consumption, optimize costs, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Evaluate new cloud technologies and trends, recommending their adoption where beneficial to the business.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud-related issues and provide expert guidance for resolution.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a dedicated Cloud Solutions Architect role.
- In-depth expertise with at least two major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including their core services (compute, storage, networking, databases, security).
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.
- Solid knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPNs, DNS, Load Balancing) in cloud environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
- Professional cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience with hybrid cloud deployments and multi-cloud strategies.
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools.
- Experience in the telecommunications or internet service provider industry.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks relevant to data security (e.g., ISO 27001).
