Key Responsibilities
- Learn to set up and operate CNC machines (routers, mills, lathes) for plastic fabrication, under supervision.
- Load and unload plastic materials onto machines.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations.
- Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machine setup and production methods.
- Clean and maintain machines and work area daily to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
- Assist with machine troubleshooting and basic maintenance tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Document production activities, including completed parts and any issues encountered.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
- Ability to read and understand technical instructions and safety manuals.
- Good manual dexterity and physical stamina for standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and repetitive tasks.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Commitment to adhering to safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production setting (any industry, e.g., assembly, general labor) is a plus but not required.
