Career.zycto is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated College Lecturer to inspire and educate our diverse student body in Lower Mission, Kelowna. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality, engaging lectures, seminars, and practical sessions to undergraduate students.
- Design, prepare, and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments in line with curriculum objectives and institutional standards.
- Evaluate student performance through a variety of methods, providing constructive feedback and grading assignments, examinations, and projects promptly.
- Hold regular office hours to provide academic support, mentorship, and guidance to students on course-related matters and career pathways.
- Contribute to the development and review of academic programs, course content, and teaching strategies.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, committees, and extracurricular activities to support the broader educational mission.
- Stay current with developments and best practices in the relevant academic field and integrate new research and pedagogical approaches into teaching.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress, ensuring compliance with academic policies.
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and stimulating learning environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and critical thinking.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in a relevant academic discipline from an accredited institution.
- Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lectures to diverse student populations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple courses and student needs.
- Proficiency in modern educational technologies and learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas).
- Demonstrated commitment to student success and active learning pedagogies.
- Deep subject matter expertise in the relevant academic discipline.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a faculty team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field.
- Previous college-level teaching experience, particularly in a student-centric environment.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment design.
- Publications or presentations in the academic field.
