Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and highly engaged Community Manager, Online Engagement, to be the vibrant voice and central point of connection for Career.zycto’s growing digital community. This pivotal role is tailor-made for an individual who lives and breathes online interaction, possesses an innate ability to foster genuine connections, and can strategically transform passive audiences into active, loyal advocates. As our Community Manager, you will not just manage, but passionately cultivate a thriving online environment across all our digital touchpoints, including social media platforms, forums, and nascent community spaces. Your mission will be to deepen engagement, gather invaluable insights, and champion the needs and aspirations of our users directly to our product, marketing, and customer success teams. You will be instrumental in defining and executing our online community strategy, ensuring our brand voice is consistent, empathetic, and impactful. This involves proactive content curation and creation, initiating compelling discussions, organizing virtual events, and identifying key influencers and brand ambassadors within our ecosystem. A deep understanding of digital trends, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset are essential to succeed in this fast-paced and rewarding role. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive online community engagement strategy that aligns with Career.zycto's brand objectives and user growth goals.
  • Proactively monitor, moderate, and respond to conversations, comments, and inquiries across all Career.zycto social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram) and online forums.
  • Curate and create compelling, original content, including posts, stories, polls, quizzes, and discussion prompts, to stimulate interaction and provide value to the community.
  • Plan, organize, and execute online events such as Q&A sessions, webinars, live chats, and AMAs to foster direct engagement and build rapport.
  • Identify, engage, and nurture community advocates, power users, and influencers to amplify brand messaging and user-generated content.
  • Gather and analyze community feedback, sentiment, and data, providing actionable insights and regular reports to product development, marketing, and customer success teams.
  • Develop and enforce clear community guidelines to ensure a positive, inclusive, and respectful online environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team on integrated campaigns, content distribution strategies, and promotional activities.
  • Monitor competitor community activities and broader industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Address community member inquiries and resolve minor issues promptly and professionally, escalating complex cases to relevant internal teams when necessary.
  • Track and report on key community metrics, engagement rates, growth, and the overall health of our online interactions to demonstrate ROI and inform future strategies.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in community management, social media management, or digital marketing.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with a strong ability to craft engaging and brand-aligned content.
  • In-depth understanding of major social media platforms, their algorithms, and community analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, grow, and manage online communities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a natural talent for connecting with diverse online audiences.
  • Proactive problem-solver with strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems or dedicated community management software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Experience with basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) for creating visual content.
  • Familiarity with the recruitment, HR technology, or career development industry.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting on community engagement metrics.
  • Fluency in Swahili is considered a significant advantage.
  • Experience with online event management and livestreaming platforms.
