Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures in line with current and evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive internal compliance audits, risk assessments, and reviews to identify potential areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor significant changes in UK and international regulations, including FCA, PRA, and broader legal frameworks, ensuring the firm's continuous adaptation.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to various departments on compliance, legal, and governance matters, fostering a strong compliance culture.
  • Investigate and document any reported compliance breaches, manage incident reporting, and ensure timely remediation.
  • Act as a primary liaison with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and legal counsel, facilitating seamless communication and information exchange.
  • Design and deliver engaging compliance training programs for employees at all levels to enhance awareness and adherence.
  • Prepare detailed compliance reports for senior management and board committees, highlighting key risks, issues, and strategic recommendations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a dedicated compliance, audit, or legal role, preferably within financial services.
  • Deep understanding of UK financial regulations, including the FCA Handbook, AML, KYC, and GDPR.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex regulatory concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in using compliance management software and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Unwavering ethical standards, integrity, and a professional demeanour.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional certifications such as the ICA Diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with corporate governance best practices and framework implementation.
  • Familiarity with international regulatory standards and cross-border compliance challenges.
