Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures aligned with legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the recruitment industry.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps and areas for improvement, reporting findings to senior management.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, advising the company on necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to staff on compliance matters, fostering a strong culture of ethical conduct and regulatory awareness.
  • Oversee the management of internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and investigations, preparing responses and managing interactions.
  • Review and approve marketing materials, contracts, and other company communications to ensure compliance with legal and advertising standards.
  • Manage and maintain accurate compliance records, documentation, and reporting systems.
  • Investigate reported compliance breaches or ethics violations, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel on complex legal and governance issues, providing internal support and coordination.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance frameworks and ethical decision-making processes within the organisation.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Compliance Officer, Auditor, or Legal professional, preferably within professional services or recruitment.
  • Strong understanding of UK and Northern Ireland regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, employment law, financial conduct regulations relevant to business operations).
  • Demonstrable experience in conducting internal audits, risk assessments, and compliance monitoring.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal and regulatory concepts clearly.
  • High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and discretion.

  • Experience with ISO standards or other quality management systems.
  • Prior experience working with a recruitment agency or in a similar staffing industry role.
  • A Master's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
