Vodacom Tanzania Plc is seeking a dedicated and skilled Computer Data Technician to join our team in the beautiful Jozani Forest Area of Zanzibar. In this critical full-time role, you will be the frontline support for our local infrastructure, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our data systems and network components. Your primary focus will be on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, and network connectivity within our operational sites and client service points in the region. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Perform routine diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on technical issues related to data systems, network infrastructure, and user endpoints.
- Ensure data integrity and security by implementing and monitoring backup procedures and access controls.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on all IT equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor network performance and connectivity, identifying and resolving any disruptions or bottlenecks in the Jozani area.
- Provide technical support and guidance to local staff on IT-related queries and best practices.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of all IT assets and equipment.
- Collaborate with central IT teams to implement system upgrades, patches, and new technologies.
- Prepare reports on system status, incident resolutions, and maintenance activities.
- Adhere strictly to Vodacom's IT policies, security protocols, and operational procedures.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in computer hardware assembly, diagnosis, and repair.
- Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Solid knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi) and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with data backup, recovery, and storage solutions.
- Ability to troubleshoot software applications and resolve user issues.
