Are you a skilled and safety-conscious Construction Equipment Operator looking for a challenging role with a reputable company? Bitumen World (Pvt) Ltd is seeking experienced and dedicated Construction Equipment Operators to join our dynamic project teams in Ruwa, Harare Province. This vital role involves operating a variety of heavy machinery essential for civil engineering and construction projects, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, graders, rollers, front-end loaders, and backhoes.
As a Construction Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of equipment to meet project specifications and timelines. Your day-to-day tasks will involve site preparation, material handling, excavation, grading, and compaction, all while adhering strictly to safety protocols and operational guidelines. We are looking for individuals who possess a strong understanding of equipment mechanics, preventative maintenance, and site safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be adept at interpreting project plans and specifications, working collaboratively with site managers and fellow team members, and maintaining a high level of situational awareness to prevent accidents and ensure smooth workflow.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy construction equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, graders, rollers, loaders, and backhoes, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform pre-operational checks on equipment, identify and report any defects or malfunctions immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations, company policies, and traffic management plans.
- Conduct routine maintenance and lubrication of equipment as per manufacturer's guidelines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and other instructions to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
- Grade, excavate, move, and load earth, rock, and other materials.
- Collaborate effectively with site supervisors, engineers, and other crew members to achieve project goals.
- Maintain accurate daily logs of equipment operation, maintenance, and project progress.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper storage of equipment at the end of each shift.
- Assist with manual labor when equipment is not in use or as required by site management.
Required Skills
- Proficient operation of multiple types of heavy construction equipment.
- Strong understanding of site safety protocols and best practices.
- Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
