Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Construction Foreman to oversee and manage all on-site operations for our projects in Machakos, Machakos County. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a proven track record in site supervision, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This pivotal role involves direct supervision of construction crews, coordination of daily activities, management of resources, and strict adherence to project plans and specifications. You will be instrumental in maintaining a productive work environment, implementing safety protocols, and serving as the primary point of contact for on-site execution matters. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead on-site construction crews, ensuring efficient daily operations and optimal productivity.
  • Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on site.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of work.
  • Monitor project progress, report on potential delays, and proactively identify solutions to keep projects on schedule.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless workflow and communication.
  • Manage and allocate on-site resources, including labour, materials, and equipment, effectively.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure all work meets Epco Builders' high standards and project specifications.
  • Oversee the proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment, ensuring operational readiness and safety.
  • Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and incident reports as required.
  • Resolve on-site issues and conflicts promptly and professionally.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a Construction Foreman or Site Supervisor.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, techniques, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera Lite).
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Kenya.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on diverse construction projects (e.g., commercial, residential, infrastructure).
