Key Responsibilities
- Perform general site clean-up and maintenance, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment efficiently and safely.
- Assist skilled tradespersons (carpenters, plumbers, electricians, masons) with various tasks as directed.
- Operate hand and power tools under supervision, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Dig trenches, compact earth, and prepare surfaces for concrete or other installations.
- Set up and dismantle scaffolding, temporary structures, and other site amenities.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and foremen, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule.
Required Skills
- Proven physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual labor.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25 kg) and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety practices and awareness.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card) for working on construction sites in Australia.
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a construction or manual labor role.
- Basic knowledge of different construction materials and their uses.
- Ability to operate basic construction equipment (e.g., jackhammers, plate compactors) is a plus.
