Job Description
Epco Builders Ltd. is seeking dedicated and hardworking Construction Laborers to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis in Mlolongo, Nairobi. This role is fundamental to the successful execution of our construction projects, involving a variety of manual tasks that support our skilled tradespeople and project managers. As a Construction Laborer, you will be an integral part of our on-site crew, responsible for performing physically demanding duties that require stamina, attention to safety, and a willingness to learn and contribute. Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from work areas.
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, compacting earth, and setting up temporary structures.
- Assist skilled tradespersons such as masons, carpenters, electricians, and plumbers with various tasks as needed.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely, including shovels, picks, rakes, wheelbarrows, and compactors.
- Perform general site cleanup and maintenance, ensuring a tidy and safe working environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, and other temporary structures.
- Perform other construction-related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Skills
- Physical strength and stamina to perform demanding manual labor for extended periods.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, often exceeding 25 kg.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (even informal) in construction or a related manual labor field.
- Knowledge of basic hand tools and their safe operation.
- Possession of a valid first aid certificate.
- A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to task completion.
