Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and physically capable individual looking to kickstart or advance your career in the construction industry? Nthane Brothers Construction, a reputable and established construction firm in Lesotho, is actively seeking dedicated Construction Labourers to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant infrastructure and building projects in the Ha Lekhoro, Teyateyaneng area and beyond. As a Construction Labourer, you will be an integral part of our on-site team, performing a variety of essential tasks that ensure the smooth and efficient progress of our projects. You will work alongside experienced tradespeople, learning valuable skills and gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

We are looking for individuals who are not only strong and reliable but also possess a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety. You will be expected to assist with site preparation, material handling, basic equipment operation, and general site cleanup, all while adhering to the highest safety standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, masons, and equipment operators.
  • Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and other vehicles.
  • Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, digging trenches, and setting up temporary structures.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary ramps, and other structures as directed.
  • Remove rubble and other waste materials from construction sites.
  • Perform general site cleanup and maintenance to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in mixing and pouring concrete, spreading asphalt, and other material handling tasks.
  • Perform other labourer duties as assigned by the site supervisor or foreman.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual labour.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety protocols.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Punctuality and a commitment to attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a construction labourer role or similar heavy manual labour.
  • Knowledge of basic construction tools and equipment.
  • Valid driver's license (Code B or higher).
  • Completion of a relevant safety training program (e.g., First Aid, OSHA 10/30).
