Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Construction Machinery Operator to join our dynamic project team in Sorsogon City, Sorsogon. As a pivotal member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery essential for various phases of our construction projects, which may include site preparation, excavation, material handling, and grading. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to safety protocols, and the ability to operate complex equipment with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safely and effectively operating equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, and other heavy construction vehicles. You will be expected to perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on your assigned machinery, identify potential operational issues, and ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition before and after use. Your expertise will directly contribute to the timely completion and success of our projects, ensuring that all work is executed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy construction machinery (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, compactors) in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation checks, routine maintenance, and cleaning of assigned machinery.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and site-specific procedures at all times.
  • Monitor machine performance, identify minor faults or maintenance needs, and report them promptly to supervisors or mechanics.
  • Assist with site preparation, excavation, trenching, backfilling, material loading, grading, and other construction-related tasks.
  • Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and staking to ensure accurate machinery operation.
  • Coordinate with ground personnel, project managers, and other team members to ensure smooth project flow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area around the machinery.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in operating multiple types of heavy construction machinery (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, loaders).
  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment operation safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and demanding environments.
  • Valid professional driver's license with appropriate heavy equipment restriction codes.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NC II or equivalent certification in Heavy Equipment Operation from TESDA or a recognized institution.
  • Experience with GPS-guided equipment systems.
  • Knowledge of local construction codes and regulations.
  • First Aid and basic life support certification.
