Job Description
Are you an experienced and dynamic Construction Project Manager ready to leave your mark on the burgeoning landscape of Kwekwe and the wider Midlands Province? In this pivotal Full-Time role, you will be the driving force behind the successful delivery of complex construction projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for defining project scope, developing detailed work plans, and managing all facets of project execution. This includes supervising site managers, coordinating subcontractors, procuring materials, and ensuring seamless communication across all stakeholders – clients, engineers, architects, and local authorities. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed work breakdown structures, resource allocation, and critical path analysis.
- Oversee site activities, supervise project teams and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, approve invoices, and provide regular financial forecasts and reports.
- Establish and maintain strong communication channels with clients, architects, engineers, suppliers, and local authorities.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to minimize impact on project delivery.
- Ensure strict adherence to all relevant building codes, regulations, and environmental standards.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and material quality.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, mentoring junior staff and promoting team development.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in construction project management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Construction Management or Business Administration.
- Professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2.
- Experience with sustainable building practices or green construction.
- Familiarity with local Kwekwe and Zimbabwean construction industry regulations and supply chains.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) or BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools.
