Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming construction materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring accuracy and condition.
  • Accurately document all deliveries, noting any discrepancies or damage, and report issues promptly to site supervisors.
  • Organize and store materials in designated areas on-site, ensuring proper labeling, accessibility, and adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Safely transport materials to various work zones using appropriate equipment (e.g., wheelbarrows, pallet jacks, or by hand) as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times, adhering strictly to company and industry safety standards.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., masons, carpenters, electricians) with tasks such as fetching tools, mixing concrete, and preparing work areas.
  • Operate small construction equipment (e.g., power tools, compactors) under supervision, following all prescribed safety protocols.
  • Monitor material inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to supervisors to prevent project delays and ensure continuous workflow.
  • Assist with site setup and breakdown, including erecting temporary structures, installing signage, and securing the construction site.
  • Participate actively in daily safety briefings and contribute positively to a culture of continuous safety improvement.
  • Perform other general labor duties as assigned by the site supervisor to support overall project progress and team objectives.

Required Skills

  • Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy materials repeatedly and safely.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety protocols and practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and challenging construction environments.
  • Basic problem-solving aptitude for on-site material management and logistics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (1-2 years) in a construction, warehouse, or other physically demanding manual labor role.
  • Knowledge of different construction materials and their proper handling techniques.
  • Valid driver’s license (especially if operating company vehicles is occasionally required).
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Forklift operator certification (advantageous but not mandatory for initial hiring).
