Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) with various tasks as directed.
- Perform general labour duties, including moving materials, tools, and equipment around the site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by sweeping, clearing debris, and disposing of waste materials properly.
- Load and unload construction materials from trucks and move them to designated areas.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Dig trenches, holes, or foundations as required, using shovels and other hand tools.
- Help with site setup and tear-down, including erecting temporary structures and preparing surfaces.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations and procedures, actively participating in safety briefings.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, including punctuality and consistent attendance.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures and willingness to learn more.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions accurately.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience on a construction site (even volunteer or part-time).
- Basic knowledge of common construction tools and equipment.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
