Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Supervisor to lead and oversee our dynamic construction projects in Mpharane, Leribe, and surrounding areas. This is a critical role at the forefront of our operations, demanding exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of all phases of construction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the meticulous day-to-day management of construction sites, ensuring that all projects are executed safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the highest possible quality standards. You will serve as the primary on-site authority, expertly coordinating the efforts of various teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. Your daily tasks will include interpreting complex blueprints and technical drawings, implementing strict health and safety regulations, and proactively identifying and resolving any potential site challenges. This pivotal position requires a strong leader with exceptional organizational skills, a profound knowledge of contemporary construction methods, materials, and equipment, and a proven ability to inspire and manage diverse teams and resources effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on site, ensuring adherence to project schedules and specifications.
- Oversee and manage construction crews, subcontractors, and equipment effectively.
- Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols, conducting regular safety briefings and inspections.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure quality control by regularly inspecting work for compliance with blueprints, specifications, and industry standards.
- Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, storage, and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in budget monitoring and resource allocation to prevent cost overruns.
- Troubleshoot construction-related problems and implement practical solutions.
- Conduct site orientations and ongoing training for new and existing team members.
- Prepare sites for inspections and ensure all necessary documentation is available.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Construction Supervisor or similar role, preferably in Lesotho.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in construction safety (e.g., OSHA, local equivalent).
- Experience with project management software.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Lesotho.
