Job Description
Sotramon Ltd is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and detail-oriented Construction Supervisor to join our dynamic project teams based in Ébène, Plaines Wilhems District. As a Construction Supervisor, you will be a pivotal figure on-site, orchestrating daily operations and ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This crucial role involves overseeing all construction activities from ground-breaking to completion, directly supervising site personnel, managing subcontractors, and ensuring strict adherence to project plans, specifications, and timelines. You will be instrumental in maintaining an impeccable safety record, conducting regular site inspections, identifying and resolving on-site issues promptly, and communicating progress effectively to project managers and other key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects adhere to specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Manage and lead a team of foremen, skilled laborers, and subcontractors, fostering a productive and safe working environment.
- Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols, conducting regular safety briefings and inspections to prevent accidents.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement corrective actions in consultation with the Project Manager.
- Ensure efficient utilization of labor, materials, and equipment on site, optimizing resources to meet project deadlines and budgets.
- Conduct quality control checks and inspections, ensuring all work complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, material usage, and incident reports.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and facilitate smooth project execution.
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules and ensure adherence to planned timelines.
- Oversee site security and ensure proper storage and handling of materials and equipment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Construction Supervisor or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) is a plus.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH).
- Experience with large-scale commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Proficiency in French and Mauritian Creole is an advantage.
